High fashion brands are just as accessible as easily affordable brands .There are many shops around the city where the retail experience is extraordinary, such as in Selfridges.

The truth is that the pandemic has changed the way we purchase and consume, and it also has impacted our mindset towards the damage we have done to the Earth as humans. The pandemic has become an opportunity to think twice before we spend, and also to find positive actions that are better practices to reduce harmful waste.

Charity shops and other ways to be fashionable

Through this British culture immersion I have found the famous “charity shops” that once you live in London, you totally will be visiting at least one.

The charity shops are where donated second hand products are sold to fundraising for the charities which represent different good causes. In the fashion market these charities are an option to find good quality or even luxury brand names with good prices.

According to my research on the net, the charity shops are a British Institution and flourished after the II World War. These shops were used as a way to fundraise money for the side effects of the war.

Fashion is the second leading industry with large amounts of contaminating waste . Nearly 85% of the clothes from around the world go to the dump every year, and most of them are fabricated from dangerous materials. So why the waste if there are other ways of being fashionable and smart?

In Latin America this trend has started to bloom among the high class who look for affordable luxury brands. However, it would be better if we adopt this as a habit no matter the country or the social class, and we try to contribute in a positive way in these weird times.
